Flame-haired Brit model Lily Cole is the latest testament to the indisputable superiority of French Playboy over the frommage-filled American original. Her Lolita-like cover pose - and the 14-pg. spread inside - is inspired by style icon Serge Gainsbourg’s 1971 concept album Histoire de Melody Nelson. In a nutshell, the plotline involves Gainsbourg plowing his vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost into a teenage nymphet’s bicycle as a prelude to seduction.

We’ve had our eye on randy model/heiress Lydia Hearst for quite a while—following her progress with considerable interest, as Bertie Wooster might say.
She flaunts her charms to be sure, but somehow manages to avoid the Paris Hilton pitfall. And while not exactly a Rhodes Scholar, the provocative poppet certainly has a head on her shoulders, enough to be a good sport about it when Gawker takes the piss, as it’s wont to do. (Darn that creative underclass!)
What has Leo DiCaprio got that you haven’t? Well, Bar Refaeli for one, the startlingly stacked Israeli model he’s been keeping company with for the past couple years.
Considering the stilettos she’s stepping into here - Leo’s ex is if course The Gisele - Bar looks like beating the odds. She was the first Israeli chick to be admitted into the ranks of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue sirens and was recently named Best Body of 2008 by Arena magazine. To top it off she was just picked as the new face (and such) of Hurley, the Californian surf and skate company with a cult-like following.
The ads (above) will debut in the fall, when she’ll also be appearing in Tommy Hilfiger’s Iconic America TV special.

We’re glad to see that one of our favorite women of all time, gorgeous Czech model Eva Herzigova is still getting work at the ripe old age of 35.
Last year when Louis Vuitton signed her up for their supermodel extravaganza, we figured it was a one-off for a favored LV face of years past; however the brand just brought her back for its new ad campaign, shot by Mert and Marcus at the Unisphere in Queens. Unfortunately in a few of the shots they’ve decked her out in some rather hideous garments reminiscent of those lamentable Bond girl outfits from the ’80s - think Barbara Carrrera as Fatima Blush in Never Say Never Again.
We of course prefer our Eva unclothed, or nearly so, hence the above shot.
We should make it clear from the start that while we never watch television, we do have something of a Netflix addiction to House M.D..
And though we were drawn to it by the prospect of Bertie Wooster playing a misanthropic American medico, Jennifer Morrison (aka Dr. Cameron) is certainly easy on the eyes. If only the wardrobe department wouldn’t insist on stuffing her into ill-fitting Club Monaco career separates.

It’s no easy task to fill the formidable stilettos of Claudia Cardinale, one of the most beautiful silver screen sirens of the Sixties. But we think Brazilian bombshell Isabeli Fontana has the chops.
Apparently not only is there such a thing as French Playboy but it seriously puts the American version—actually, make that America—to shame. While our original iteration of the classic men’s mag is irredeemably cheesy, the French version puts a high-fashion spin on things which elevates it above the onanistic urges of, well, the kind of guys who buy Playboy.
The good people over at Hypebeast, God bless ‘em, keep a closer eye on once-and-future designer Hedi Silmane’s photoblog than we do. With pictorials like this, from the possibly engaged (What? Again?) Kate Moss, who can blame them?

This is shaping up to be a banner year for one of our favorite women in the world: Danish model/artist/actress/director Rie Rasmussen. The likes of GQ can keep their Jennifer Anistons and Jessica Biels; here at Kempt we go for brainy, over-achieving beauties in the Carla Bruni mold rather than the mindless meat puppets of prime time (but we digress).

Filling Salma Hayek’s shoes—or whatever—is no easy task. But here at Kempt our Locks are off to Eva Mendes for her yeoman’s work on Campari’s new calendar for 2008. While Salma’s sexy sortie was cinematic in nature, Italian photographer Marino Parisotto staged Eva in a series of fairly tale-inspired vignettes on location in the quaint town of Rosignano, with help from designers like Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti and Elie Saab.
The lingerie mavens at Brit brand Agent Provocateur have made a good thing out of showing just enough skin to leave us always wanting more. Their narrative ad campaigns, far too racy for prime time, are released in snippets online; for their last one they commissioned Leaving Las Vegas director Mike Figgis to make Kate Moss’ erotic dreams into a series of short films, aired in bits over the past several months. Now they’ve finally compiled the footage along with stills and extras into a limited edition book and DVD package, The 4 Dreams of Miss X…
